About

Do you like scary movies? What’s your favourite scary movie? This isn’t just an iconic line from Ghostface in Wes Craven’s Scream. This unadulterated love of scary movies is at the core of I Like Scary Movies’ philosophy.

I Like Scary Movies (ILSM) aspires to be an infinite love letter to the horror genre, written by horror movie cinephiles with diverse backgrounds. It aims to be a community for discussion and analysis without any prerequisites—just a space for avid horror fans to gush about, or sound off on scary movies. Horror gatekeepers need not apply.

ILSM covers a wide range of horror subgenres but is primarily a champion of feminist horror and strives to tell stories and celebrate projects with LGBTQ+ representation.

To achieve diversity on ILSM we want to publish stories from as many unique voices as possible. If you would like to be one of them, submit a sample of your writing to us for a chance to become an ILSM contributor! We’d love to hear your thoughts.
